WHAT I HAVE AS A BORN AGAIN CHILD OF GOD

What do I have as a Child of God?

I have:

A Father God in Heaven as my Creator.

An intercessor to God through His Son, Jesus Christ.

God’s Spirit (Holy Spirit) living “in” me for leading and guiding me                       through God’s Word. (Spirit to spirit!)

How do I know this?

Because of the spiritual transformation that occurred “in” me when I believed in Jesus Christ as my Savior.  A “WILL-ful” decision I needed to make to become a child of my Father in Heaven.

Now, as any other child, I want to please my Father, Who I love very much, and I know in my heart that He Loves me even more.  How can I do this when I can’t “see” Him to “show” Him my love?  By keeping my primary goal and purpose in my life on God!

Next question:  Where is my/our primary goal in relationship to my Father?

2 Corinthians 5:9

“Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to God.”

Oswald Chambers commented on that verse this way:

“It requires a conscious effort to keep our primary goal constantly in front of us.  It is not a lack of spiritual experience that leads to failure, but a lack of working to keep our eyes focused and on the Right Goal.  Examine yourself before God to see if your life is measuring up to the standard He has for you.  Is my primary goal in life to please Him and to be acceptable to Him, or is it something less, no matter how lofty it may sound?”

My Father in heaven knows me.  He Loves me and has a standard for “my” life.  Just as He has for every one of His children.  Each of us in our own lives.  And I can go to Him any time day or night for help and Love.  It’s that Love, that he gave us through His Son’s death and resurrection, that motivates me to want to please Him in everything I think, say, and do.

Do I fall short?  Most certainly!!!  BUT there is “ALWAYS” forgiveness!  First from my Father, then for myself through:

            1. Realizing my sin

            2. Asking for forgiveness

            3. Accepting forgiveness

            4. Not doing it again

A constant communication between my Father—His son—and His Spirit, living “in” me, is the only way to have that Blessed Assurance!

We can do this Church!!  We just need to keep our “YES” wills focused on God and His Love for us.  By:
