QUESTIONS FOR JESUS

The Gospel of John is a very interesting, informative, and simple Book of TRUTH if we read it with the Holy Spirit guiding us.  In chapter 14 Jesus is trying to comfort His disciples for the day He was going to leave them to go Home to our Father in Heaven.

Jesus was telling them exactly what was going to happen and how they needed to handle everything for the Glory of God.  This chapter is so filled with Wisdom and Knowledge and Information that I’ll probably have to write several parts before I’m done.

But before we even start we need to ask the Holy Spirit to open up our hearts and minds to the TRUTH in God’s Word to us.  Prayer and Works always go together, Church.  We can’t do God’s Work for His Family without Prayer to God for guidance in everything without ceasing.  A lot of us start out with good intentions and lofty goals supposedly for God but get side tracked by the natural in the process.  That is because our eyes have gone from the Godly pursuit to the natural pursuit, and sometimes we don’t even realize it.  But if we really keep our focus on God and His Word and His Heart our works will be His Works for His Glory and Blessings for His Children, because Church, that “is” His Heart’s desire.  “Saving the lost at any cost” and “not having anyone go “Home” without Him.”  Two “sayings” that I like to use all the time, because it reminds me of God’s Heart for His Creation---Mankind.

O.K. Saints, let me get off my soap box and get into God’s Word, which is my comfort zone.
Now, in the end of chapter 13 of John, Jesus had just told His disciples about His departure.  Read verses 31 through 35.  Not only does He explain His “going”, but He also gives them (all of us) “a new commandment”.

John 13: 34  (Jesus speaking)
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”

“PROFOUND!”  God’s Love is the purest Love there is!  Now, look around us in the world today, even “mans love” is almost non-existent here let alone God’s Love.  (Which leads me to believe that Revelations is actually upon us now Saints---but that is for another writing.)

Jesus’ Words about leaving brought many questions from His disciples---this is where chapter 14 comes in at.  And like I said, in verses 1-4 Jesus is trying to comfort His disciples for that coming day.

John 14: 1-4
Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.  In My Father’s House are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.  And where I go you know, and the way you know.”

Jesus is telling His disciples not to be worried (troubled) about the coming event, it HAS to happen.  But He is assuring them He will be here for them if they continue on the Path they were chosen for and believe that He, Jesus, is the True Son of God, and that He and God, the Father, are ONE.  And Jesus’ last statement in verse 4 tells them; if they think with their hearts/spirits and not with their natural minds and emotions, they’ll know exactly what will be happening.

Now, here are the questions from His disciples.  But before we go on here we need to put ourselves exactly where Jesus’ disciples were, because that is really who we are!  Just as the disciples were---we are also.  We are Jesus’ Hands, Feet, and Voice to a lost and dying world just as His disciples were when Jesus was here on earth, so when I talk about His disciples—that’s us---every Child of God.  O.K., back to the questions that we all ask at one time or another when our faith falters or we tend to look more in the physical and not with our spirit-man.

John 14:5
“Thomas said to Him (Jesus), “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”

A simple question that we have all asked before but this time let Jesus’ answer be spirit to Spirit instead of just to our head knowledge.

Verse 6 and 7:
“Jesus said to him, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.  If you had known Me, you would have known My father also, and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”

Church, listen to what Jesus just said, “and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”  From now on is us, now Saints.  Jesus was telling His disciples and us when He leaves the earth, that “gulf/division” that was between us and our Father, our Creator (that started with Adam and Eve), will be gone forever!!  Jesus, Himself, would pay the Blood Sacrifice Price for us.  How will we know the way?  Jesus IS the Way, Truth and Life!  There is NO other “way” to be with our Father but through His Son, Jesus Christ!

Saints, let me stop here for this writing so we can really absorb that TRUTH!  It is Powerful and can make life changing things happen in all of our lives and the lives around us.  As long as we decide (our wills) to:

                                                 TRUST AND BELIEVE IN GOD
