And our journey through it.
LEAD ME HOLY SPIRIT
I was reading the book, Lead Me, Holy Spirit by Stormie Omartian again and I had to write down a paragraph that hit my heart very closely. See what you think about it. I have to add the last sentence from the previous paragraph first to give you an idea of what was being said prior to this paragraph. She was talking about why King Saul stopped following God and why the Holy Spirit left him. ( I Samuel 38:3-20)
“We can fall off the path God has for us too if we don’t make a deliberate effort to walk closely with Him every day.”
“Be careful how you walk. Make the most of your time and use it wisely. Don’t waste it. Be productive. Don’t let God just be there; interact with Him. Walk so closely with Him that you hear His heartbeat. Pray. Listen. Seek the leading of His Holy Spirit. Begin every day with God—in prayer, in His Word, and in worship---so that no matter what arises you are more than ready.”
What more TRUTH and ENCOURAGEMENT do we need from God for these last days, Church? Interact with Him, hear His heartbeat, pray, listen, seek the leading of His Spirit; we can do this Saints, I know we can, when we give ourselves totally over to God’s Leading and Love. We need to lead with our Spirit-man (which is God’s) not with our natural man (which the enemy has control of if we allow him.) It is all a matter of us saying, “YES” to God and “NO” to everything else. Church, this is where the TRUSTING AND BELIEVING comes in, by putting our faith in our Father God and His Plan for us and the world.
Saints, can you imagine “hearing” God’s heartbeat? I think that would be the most awesome thing! God told me a while ago when I started writing for Him to “Listen to my heart/spirit and His Words and Walk FREELY in His thoughts. He also said that I was His Child and to walk in Him and live and abide in His Words in Freedom WITHOUT FEAR!! I’ve taken Him at His Word ever since when I’m writing. Starting a web site was a scary thing for me because I didn’t even own a computer when this started. Since then my Church fellowship gave me a lap top and my trust in God is increasing every day. Now my walk may not be a straight line---but I believe I’m still on His Path for my life. Being productive with my “off work” time I’m still working on. Now interacting with Him, I’m doing much better with. At work or at home I’m asking Him to help me with one thing or another. Say, at work I can’t figure something out, I’ll ask Him to help me remember how to do it or what should be done for such a situation, etc. The Bible says the Holy Spirit will teach us and bring Jesus’ words back to our remembrance. (John 14: 26) Thanking Him for His Angels of Protection around my property and car (and family’s cars) so that no negative will come against them. When I’m traveling and see someone in trouble with their car and I can’t stop, I ask the Lord to send someone to help them and keep them from harm. The same with accidents if I see or hear them, I say, “Help them Lord, and don’t let anyone go “home” without You.” It’s a way for me to acknowledge that God is always with me. He made that Promise to His Children and I Trust and Believe Him for His Word.
The last part of the paragraph says to begin EVERY day, in prayer, in His Word, and in Worship. I think I would like to add something here that she left out---Listening to the Lord. Church, we can’t listen if we’re talking over Him, or having our mind cluttered with things of the world. Take time to be still and just start Praising God. I guarantee that before long your spirit will be connecting with God’s Spirit and amazing things will be coming forth. Try it and see if it isn’t so. Like the old commercial says, “Try it, you’ll like it!” I’m so glad God has a since of humor, too.
Well Saints, I think we need to search ourselves EVERY day to see if we can “hear” God’s heartbeat. I think it will be an exciting thing to be so in tune (in unity) with God, don’t you? Scary----yet, fulfilling. And as always Church, where do we start? By:
