HEBREWS

I’ve long admired the Jewish Nation because of God’s connection with them.  Without the Jewish Nation we, God’s Church, wouldn’t be here, because God’s Son, Jesus Christ, was born through the Jewish Nation.

God’s Plan from the very beginning was to Bless the Jews.  That’s why the Jews are called: God’s People.  That is also why our Bible starts with the Old Testament, which is the Jewish History written down by God through His Chosen People.  We also know that most Jews do not believe that Jesus Christ was actually the “Son of God.”  They believe He was an anointed prophet of God, not God’s Son.  They are still looking for God’s Son to come and lead them out of bondage from the Gentiles.

O.K. let’s look at the Book of Hebrews.  Who wrote Hebrews?  Like the ancestry of Melchizedek, the origin of the book of Hebrews is unknown, although it is attributed to Paul’s writings, and the encouragements and truths in the Book of Hebrews is unmistakable:  Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  And pressing on in Christ produces TESTED faith, self-discipline, and a visible love seen in good works.   Amen-Amen-and Amen!

Wow! How powerful is that Church!  If we can get just that statement into our souls just as it is already in our spirits we will be taking a huge step in our learning and understanding for our purpose here on earth as a Child of God and a vessel for His purpose.  Praise the Lord!

In Hebrews Chapter one verses 1-3 the title John Hagee (NKJ) put to these verses is: “The Superiority of Christ over the Prophets”.  Now remember the Jews didn’t believe Jesus was God’s Son only a mighty prophet.  So Paul is using the Old Testament as a teaching point because the Jews knew God was God and God’s Word is TRUE.  Let’s read the Word:
Hebrews 1:1-3
God, who  at various times and in different ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds (or ages); who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His Person, and upholding all things by the Word of His Power, when He had purged (cleansed) sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.”
Let’s pause here to read the reference to the statement Paul just made about Jesus sitting down at the right hand of God from the Old Testament. Psalms 68:18; 110:1
Chapter 68:18
You have ascended on high, You have led captivity captive; You have received gifts among men, even among the rebellious, that the Lord God might dwell there.
Chapter 110:1
The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”
Now Saints, these last statements are again referenced back to the New Testament Books in Matthew 22: 44 and I Corinthians 15:25.  Turn back and read those scriptures for yourself.  (Don’t take my word as truth until you read it for yourself through God’s understanding.)
God is showing all of us that His Words are TRUTH and that the Old Testament Books have to go together with the New Testament Books to make God’s Plan for our lives complete in Him and us.     Glory to God!!!
We will continue on next time with this but until then:

                                                Trust and Believe God.
